Blanchard, Oklahoma- Week 27

Hey!
So on Thursday we did get a lot of snow but it was only in the morning, and melted by the afternoon:(that's Oklahoma weather for you). The work here is going great! On Monday we got to finally have a lesson with one of our investigators, she has been going to church for a while but we had a lesson on Monday and it went great! We have been finding some more people this week and have some lessons set up for next week, it is going great our here! That's crazy, I didn't even realize I have been out for 6 months, the time sure fly's by. This week the weather has been pretty nice, about 60's. It was pretty funny yesterday, we call a number called "Tell Me" on our phones for the weather, and I love when it talks about the wind- so yesterday we had "moderate gale force winds"... what does that even mean?! I guess that's better then "severe gale force winds"? hahahaha. After exchanges I had with Elder Lloyd we decided to go see one of their new investigators, he spoke Spanish but knew English too. So we went over there and we spoke Spanish to him, it was really funny, he thought that Elder Mulitalo was Latino, so when Mulitalo told him that he was from Samoa, he was very confused, "Where did you learn to speak Spanish?" "Mexico." "ok......." it was pretty great. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Science! I've still got it!

Blanchard, Oklahoma- Week 26

 Hey!
This was a awesome week, lots of blessings. Last p-day, we played basketball and flicker ball again, is really fun! I like it when we play them. We had dinner with one of our investigators, they are showing a lot more interest again, so we are all really excited about that. I also made a new planner, I covered the outside of it with tin foil, so it looks pretty cool. On Tuesday, we had interviews with president, I talked to him about trying to get Blanchard a car, but that is probably not going to happen, the mission I guess is getting rid of some of their cars. Got to go on exchanges with the Zone Leaders, it was fun. Elder Ott came to Blanchard and I went with Elder Corbin. Elder Ott has a lot of nerf guns, so when we came back for the night, that's what I did for the rest of the night, we played with his nerf guns, it was really fun. :) We got to have another lesson with Bryce, him and everyone else is awesome! We go over there, and another friend of theirs came over to hear our message, and at the end of the lesson! She said, "I really wished now that I was here for the first lesson" it was cool :) and one of the people that was going to be there was sick and couldn't make it, so they were all telling us how he was really mad that he was missing out coming over. So they are one of my favorite people that we teach now. We have been still staying inside a lot more than usual because of Elder Mulitalo, but it's funny, even though we are not out as much, when we are, we have been teaching like crazy. And this should be another great week as well, lots of lessons already set up. On Sunday Elder Mulitalo sang in church for ward conference, it was so good! So we went to the church a few times that week so he could practice for it. While he was warming up, he sang some One Republic songs! :) so i liked that. Everyone loved it and was talking to him after church. I have gotten better at the guitar, I can play Pirates of the Caribbean now and a few other songs. The picture you got was our district, that was after a baptism that happen in Norman, we went to it and one lady said that she would take our picture and send it to our families, so I'm glad you got it. Hope everyone is having a great week. And I know Mom would like this- so yesterday night, I remembered that the libraries are going to be closed today, so I call Newcastle telling them we have to go to Norman so we can use the collage computers since they will be open. They text back and say "Don't have the miles to do it, we are going to do the emails on Tuesday" So then I thought "No! Everyone is going to be off of school tomorrow so I have to email them then" So I call the Zone Leaders and ask them for some miles to drive to Norman, they said they could give us some, so I call back Newcastle and said  "Ok, if we had 20 miles approved can we go to Norman?" and they said "Ya I guess." and I'm like "Great! We are going to Norman guys! The miles are already approved." Then called members to get a ride to Newcastle, so it was quite the adventure last night getting to here, but everything worked out and now I'm here! As Elder Mulitalo and I put it "we moved space and time itself to be here today" hahahaha Love you! Have a great week!

Blanchard, Oklahoma- Week 25

Hey!
This week was awesome!! Ok, so for p-day last Monday, we played flicker-ball, it was so much fun, and our whole zone played, so there was a lot of people, definitely one of the funniest p-days. Then we had a meeting where the zone leaders and the AP`s taught, we talked about key indicators and how we can use them better. Elder Lloyd, Elder Richardson, and I had to leave a little early to go teach a lesson, it was a really good lesson. :) On Tuesday, we had a lesson with a lady that sometimes bashes with us, she has gotten better about it, but just has a lot of questions. Well, we brought a member with us, wasn't really sure what was going to go down, because last time he came, it didn't go so well, but that's what Newcastle wanted to do. Both the member and the investigator are very passionate about their beliefs. We told him to behave, it started out ok, but toward the end, they started bashing, so our member gets up and puts his hand on the investigators shoulder, and said, "This is the true church, and these are the 17 points of the true church, study it." Well that was really the end of that lesson. It was funny. Finally got time to clean the apartment before transfers, so it looked a lot better. Transfers were huge! There was so many people in our zone, in most of the companionships, one person was changed. It's pretty crazy, but I think it will be good. Elder Mulitalo is my new companion. :) He is really cool, and he brought some guitars with him, so he taught me how to play a little, its fun. We had a good day, taught a lot. Thursday was awesome, we had a lesson set up for that night, so we go over and his wife has there too, also one of his friends and his wife, so we got to teach 4 people at once, and they all are interested :) miracle night! Friday was a long day, had our district meeting at 10:00, but had another meeting that doesn't usually happen at 9:00, so we were in Norman early. Then after the district meeting which ends at 12:00, had lunch, then Elder Llyod had some district leader meetings to go to, so since he is our ride, we were stuck at church. We got home at 5:30. So we thought, well we will go to see Jim the treasure hunter, but he wasn't home, so we were wondering if we should just go back to the apartment, but I felt that we needed to do something else here. So we walked around in that neighbourhood. Then we see that one of our potentials has his TV on, so we knock on his door, and he answered, so we got to talk to him for a while- miracle because usually we can never talk to him. We finally got to have a lesson with a guy named Calvin, we first knocked on his door, and no one answered, so we were standing on the sidewalk in front of his house thinking about what to do next, when he opens the door and lets us in! He told us that he didn't want to open the door and was talking to his wife about us, she told him, "Well didn't you tell them that you wanted to hear them?" So he thought about it, and told us that the spirit told him to open the door and let us in, soo cool! It was a great lesson, and we got another few appointments set up for him this week and next week. Elder Mulitalo hasn't been feeling the best, his allergies are messing with him, so he called the mission nurse, and she told us to try not to go outside to much, and limit how far we ride our bikes, so the work has gone down a little, but still doing all we can. I have been making a lot of phone calls to people. Almost 6 months, time sure goes by fast! Something I found cool, is to take a paperback Book of Mormon, and start at the beginning, as you go through it, have something you want to know or do, then mark where ever you find it in the book, its really cool, I have started that, got a lot out of it. Love you guys!

Newcastle,Oklahoma- Week 24

Happy New Year! That is pretty crazy, its 2015! hahaha, I'm coming home next year. Well, if this year goes by as fast as the last one did, I'm going to be home pretty quick. I love the New Years stuff! thank you! This week has actually a pretty good week. Last Monday we had a member take us to some people to visit, so that was always nice to travel in a car and not bike or walk to a place. This week has been pretty cold. For New Years Eve, President said we could stay out till 10:30!!!!! so we went to a members house and played games till we had to go, it was really fun, 2015!!!!!! We went to go see some older members and they really liked that we came over to share a little message and to see how they were doing. Later that night we went to Lindsay, which is in the Blanchard mission area, but you can only get their by car, so that was the first time I went their. Had some really good lessons with some less active members there, we showed them a few Mormon Messages, and they loved them. On Friday and Saturday, Elder Richardson and I went to Purcell for exchanges with Elder Taggert. It was really good. The coolest lesson we had their was with Brother Hoffman, he is a recent convert and waiting to get the priesthood so he can baptize his family, so that's what the rest of the family is waiting for, it is so cool! They are all so ready. Michael, one of the boys and I think he is around 20, had a friend over so we got to teach him too. We gave him a Book of Mormon, and Michael said to us that he would call him later and find out if he read it and would pick him up to go to church, that was really cool to see! On Sunday we had some great miracles happen, this is about 7 at night, we go over to Earnest's house, he and his family are investigators, we knocked on the door, but he said that he wasn't really interested anymore, so that was a little sad, but here comes the good part :) we are walking around the area, when we see a woman near her car and we introduce ourselves to her, she said she was just about to leave, but that her husband was home and that we could talk to him. So we knock on the door and tell him that his wife said we could talk to him. He looked at the TV and said, well the game doesn't start for a while so sure. At first I don't know if he was interested, but as we talked more and more and taught him the restoration, he became interested. We gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he would read and pray about it. He really liked us coming over and told us, that he is not normally home at night, he is at work, but this happened to be a very rare night that he was actually home- huge miracle! The second thing happened in our apartment complex we were walking back and saw these two younger guys hanging out. We talked to them, they have seen us before, and they were asking about what we do, one guy was telling us about himself too- he recently got married and had a baby, he was originally in Texas for work and his wife lived in Oklahoma. But he said that one day, God told him to move to Oklahoma, so not really knowing why, he did. When he moved, he knew he made the right choice and that he should not go back to Texas. He was really interested in our message, because we talk about families and he loves his family. It is amazing how The Lord prepares people. It has been cold here like I said, woke up this morning and it was 16 degrees. Started to use the electric blanket, it is nice :) I'm doing good and loving the mission! I love you guys and miss you. see you next week and I will tell you how my new companion is! bye!!!!

Newcastle,Oklahoma- Week 23

Hey!
This week was pretty awesome :) so since there is a lot, I guess we will start with Monday. We had dinner with some members, and it's really cool where they live. You go on a country road for a while then you have to turn into a dense forest tunnel path thing, and travel on that, that is cool, then you get to their house in the middle of the forest. When we pulled up, there was 2 bucks and a few does just hanging out in front of the house, so I thought that was cool to see. We are teaching this guy named Nathan, he is awesome! In our first lesson, we taught the restoration, and told him about the Book of Mormon, he said, "Well that makes since, I have always thought there had to be more" He already had a Book of Mormon, and read it. So we asked him to pray after the lesson, to ask if what we taught was true. He did, was quiet for a while, then stood up, and said, "What you guys say is the truth" So cool! Taught him about the Plan of Salvation in a later lesson, he understands it all and wants to be baptized, just wants to figure out when. And I get a call from the AP's and they are telling me that Marc is getting baptized and wants me to be there, so I'm a little confused... Marc.... Marc..  Oh! Is he from Clinton? Yes. Awesome!!!!!! I knew he would get baptized, just didn't know when. So the baptism was great, it was cool seeing everyone again, it was nice to be back. And I got my camera cord back too. Christmas Eve was good, we had a big dinner that night at a members house. CHRISTMAS!!! We had breakfast at the Batey's, and we talked with them for a while, Brother Batey got a crossbow, and was telling us how he was going to go squirrel hunting now. Then lunch at the Brumlie's house, they are our investigators, so it was really nice of them to invite us over. And then most important part :) Skype! I get on the computer and all I hear is craziness :) I love you guys :) it was great hearing from you! And thank you for the presents, they were all great! But talking with you was the best gift. Remember how I was telling you about missionary apartments have a stuff closet? Well I went through New Castles stuff closet, and found a backpack but the zippers were broken, but I used to fix my school one all the time so I fixed it. Now I have a tracting backpack. It feels a lot better if we are walking a while, not as hard on your shoulders. I still use the side bag, but if I know we are walking a lot that day, I can use the backpack. I also have a new umbrella, my old one broke in Clinton R.I.P. Hahaha! When I get my new companion on the 7th, I will be going back to Blanchard, and I'm not quite sure if I'm considered a new missionary or not, maybe in-between. People will think I am older in the mission if a wear the backpack though, so that is funny, the newer missionary's have side bags- so might try to confuse them sometimes. Hope all of you are having a great week and Happy New Years! 2015, that's crazy, seems like just yesterday it turned 2014. Love you!

Newcastle,Oklahoma- Week 22

Hey!
This week was crazy! On Monday we went over to a members house for dinner and for dessert we made fried Oreos, they were really good. We also had  a little party for the missionaries that have finished their mission and were leaving on Wednesday, that was really fun but it was sad to see them go. Tuesday we had our Christmas conference, that was all day, there were a few trainings, and at the end there was a talent show. I think the first and the last person was the best! The first missionary sang "Through Heavens Eyes" from The Prince of Egypt, and sounded just like the original singer, it was awesome. The last missionary brought his bagpipes, that sounded sooo cool. He was really good at playing them! So Wednesday was transfers :( Elder Hoffman is in Midwest City now, and Blanchard and Newcastle are combined. We are not really staying at one place, we switch off often depending on that we are doing that day, so that has been a little stressful. With all the moving I can't get into a pattern of doing things, and have some things at both places. I love being in the trio and we have seen lots of miracles, but it's the switching and moving around that I'm not liking, but it's only till the 7th so, it's quick at least. And we have a car since I'm with Newcastle, and it is nice to have at times, not that I have driven it yet. :) Friday morning was really funny, we are driving to district meeting, and there was a squirrel in the road, and Elder Llyod said "Look! A squirrel!" Then we feel a little bump under the car.... "Elder Llyod! You just ran over a Squirrel with The Lord's car!" "Am I going to be held accountable for that?" "Probably!" :) It was funny. We got to teach this old guy, his name is Ed, his is an 84 year old Korean war vet. Spent a while in ice caves near the north pole looking for Russians, and helped build Apollo 13, so this guy has done everything, he is soo cool!!! And he is interested in the gospel! Well, we were knocking doors on this one neighborhood, we knock on this door, and after we ring the door bell, I look around, and on his window there are some licence plates, veteran, purple heart, and on a table there is a sign that says leave packages on the table, there is a camera and a alarm sensor above us, and then I realize, great...... I know what door we just knocked on, so I was right. It was a older guy and he answers the door carrying a M14 with a bayonet on it. "Y'all better not be creeping around here when its dark" then slams the door. Definitely that's something we will all remember, hahaha. Also have you heard of Porter Rockwell? Coolest guy ever! He was actually invincible, I can see why Joseph Smith had him as a bodyguard. Love you! See you on Christmas!
I Love Elder Santana! :)

Blanchard,Oklahoma- Week 21

Hey!!!!!
So this week, I think was the longest one so far, a pretty crazy week. Monday, we played a lot of basketball with the rest of our zone, so that was really cool. Tuesday we walked around a lot, knocking of peoples doors, we did a entire neighborhood. I got a map of the area and where ever we go, I mark it on the map, and it is starting to get it filled up now, it is pretty cool. Wednesday was one of the best days! We had service at the library then we tried to find a investigator to go with us to the Chickasha lights, we called up three families we had, they all said probably, then throughout the day, they all dropped. Like a hour before we wanted to go, we found a person who wanted to go with us! So we got to go and see the lights, it was sooo cool, I took pictures of it. The investigator was a members girlfriend, his mom told us to follow them around, so it was really funny- us trying to sneak around watching them! So that was the highlight of the week. The next day was actually pretty good too. Brother Brooks took us to lunch and dinner. Brother Brooks is a senior missionary, he is so awesome, he reminds me us Gus from Night at the Museum, and looks like him too! We have gotten a lot of success with missionary work this week, all the hard work finding people is paying off. We found a family and they were really interested, and they already had a Book of Mormon, because a brother of theirs was investigating the church and gave them a copy and told them about it. So we are very excited  that we were able to meet them. Friday, lots of missionaries went to the OU campus and went line dancing, we had "He is the Gift" posters made, so some people held signs, and everyone else gave out cards, we gave out so many cards! So we hope that helped people. Then I got to go on exchanges with Elder Finnie, who finishes up his mission in 2 days, Elder Finnie is awesome, and we are sad that he is leaving, but happy for him too. Saturday is the day Elder Hoffman and I are still trying to figure out. Fun day, got to see a parade, pass out cards had good lessons. Then at 9:00, President Walkenhorst calls, so we are like great..... "hello? Hi congratulations Elder Hoffman, your going Zone leader in Mid West City, Elder Santana, you going into a trio in New Castle so you are now in charge of two areas, bye." Hoffman and I were like "What!!??? nooooooo!!" So Elder Hoffman is leaving :( but I have Elder Llyod and Richardson as a companion now, so that's cool. Interesting to see how all of this is going to work out. It was so funny, the next day we wake up and the first thing Elder Hoffman says is "Please tell me that last night was a bad dream"-"Sorry dude, your going zone leader":) yup, so that's the week. Love you guys!
We saw this Monday, and we were like what is going on? Did something just explode? It was just steam from a power plant

I bought my self a christmas present :) cant wait till Christmas!!!

The moon was soo cool on Tuesday
