Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 103

Hey!!
Well, I made it! These have truly been the best two years, I can't believe that is almost over now. The time went by so fast, and this was definitely the longest/shortest week ever! We had a good week, I am happy with what I have done here. You should be getting my bike tomorrow. President Mansell is cool, he is a pretty funny guy. He has really changed up the mission, its going to be a big transfer in a few days, so it is interesting to see what is going to happen in the mission because of it. We had a good week this week, we were able to find more people, and have a lot of return appointments. I feel like I'm ready to go home but still nervous about it at the same time. so, hahaha, I guess we will see how it goes! See you in a few days! :)

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 102

Hey!
This week was okay, not that much happening, but we did meet some really cool people- Lauren and Eric. So last week we met Lauren, we knocked on her door and she came out and started thanking us which we thought was a little weird so we were just like "umm, your welcome?" Then she explained that earlier that day, she let her dogs out, and the gate was open, and she fell asleep. So with us waking her up, she saw the gate was open, luckily the dogs stayed in the yard though. So we talked with her for a little more, and she said that we could come back next week, so we did and this time we meet, Eric, Lauren's boyfriend. He told us that Lauren told him about us, and thanked us. He explained that she is going through a hard time right now, and was glad for people like us sharing a message about hope. He said that they didn't go to church and wasn't sure if God existed or not, but really wanted to learn more. So we were able to give him a Book of Mormon, and left him with some scriptures to read, and he said that he would share them with Lauren. So that was a cool miracle that happened this week. Fourth of July was a fun p-day, the whole district and some other missionaries had a little party at the church, so we all brought food and played games the whole time! :) The rules President Mansell gave for the 4th, weren't very fun... we had to be home at 9:00, and spend the time after p-day (in the afternoon) proselyting, but of course we didn't see anyone, because no one is home! But on a good note, I was able to see a few fireworks from the apartment! :) We are meeting the new President tomorrow, and I'm getting ready... I'm going to take apart my bike today, so I'm slowly getting there!

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 101

Hey!
So not that much happened this week, we were able to find a few more people in the city to teach so that is good! I can't believe I pretty much have 2 weeks left, the mission has gone by so fast! I don't know if you remember Tracy from Del City, but yesterday, we are going tracting, and we picked a random place to start. Then I feel that we should try one of the less actives, so we try him and he doesn't answer. So we try some of the neighbors, welllll, we knock on this door, and guess who answers? Tracy! He gives me a hug and tells me how much he has missed me. He is staying the week in Edmond with his mom, then going back to Del City. But ya, it was so cool to see him again! And we got his phone number and told him to call us, when he is back in Edmond, so he could go to church with us then. :) Tracy has some mental problems, but he kindest guy ever! He loves the missionaries, so he couldn't wait to go back to Del City and tell the missionaries there that he saw me!

Edmond Oklahoma- Week 100

Hey!
This has been a hot week, we have been outside a lot tracting! At the beginning of the week, we were finding a lot of people, we started trying to tract in the late evening, and so far that was the best time to do that. So at the beginning of the week, we found 4 new people, only later we sadly found out that we weren't in our area... so we gave the other elders a lot of referals for them to teach. We got a baptismal date that we are excited for! The highlight of the week was two things, one was-do you remember Melody? she was my first convert- well, I got to go with her when she went to the temple to get endowed!!! She was so happy! It was great to see her again, that event right there, just made the entire mission worth it. I was soo happy that I was able to be with her for that. We also we had stake conference, and bishop Causet, was there, he is the presiding bishop of the church! So we got to meet him and talk to him for a little. It was really cool!

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 99

Hey!
So not that much happened this week, it was a slower week. We taught a few lessons, but for the most part it was a lot of trying to see people and they weren't home. It is pretty humid today, its in the 70's with 90% humidity, so it feels hot outside! Sorry for the short emails! We did  a lot of tracting with week, so knocking on doors. Not much else is new.

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 98

Hey!
So my new companions name is Elder Mickelsen, he has been out for about 17 months, so we both have been out for a while. This week we have seen so many miracles, we were able to find a lot of new people to teach, and we had to give a few of the people that we found to the university sisters because all people between 19-26 go to them, so that was sad, because they were pretty awesome! So we should be teaching a lot of people this next week! Love you

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 97

Hey!
So first thing, I'm staying here in Edmond, Elder Ricks is getting transferred to Lawton, so it's sad to see him go, this transfer truly flew by! I wish we would have spend longer together. My new companion is Elder Mickelsen.  This week was great! We were able to have some good lessons this week, met a lot of people. Oh and something cool- President called us and wanted us to give someone a blessing in the city, so we went down there and it turns out the person is closely related to Elder Ricks, small world! We had a movie night at the church and we watched the Saratov Approach, that is a awesome movie! Our investigators enjoyed it! We also had a miracle last week, one of the people that we are teaching is atheist, and then just last week, she told us that she believes in God now!!! So we are excited for that :)
Guess who I found this week? Do you remember Garret? I taught him in Blanchard- he now lives in Edmond!

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 96

Hey!
This week has been good, the weather actually has been cooler in the beginning of the week, now its starting to warm up. We got a small storm this morning, so we got a little rain, that was nice. There was lots of thunder! :)  We have been continuing to teach a lot of people, so that has been good. And I will probably stay here for my final transfer. Also, I got great news, Melody, my first convert is going to the Temple in a few weeks! So I get to go with her! :)
There is a Storm Coming

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 95

Hey!
My week has gone well, it was a little stormy last night, but the weather has actually been a little cooler than normal! We were able to go to a scout fundraiser at the church this week, and it was really fun. There was dinner there as well. Jordan Cortez was able to come out teaching with us last night, it was awesome! We had a great lesson with him there. Love you!

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 94

Hey!
We had a good week, we have been staying busy, with everything. We thought that we would get some storms this week, but so far the weather has been nice. Maybe a little rain. I'm slowly liking Edmond more and more, I think the thing that I still have to get used to is that the areas here are so big, and spread apart. So I think its the directions I'm having trouble with, but like I said it is getting better :) We are not really doing much today, shopping, maybe some sports. Love you

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 93

Hey!
So we got some storms this week, lots of rain and lots of wind- no tornadoes which is good. It has been a fun week, we were kept pretty busy with everything which is a good thing. We talked to a lot of people this week, we were able to find a few new people to teach. At Church last Sunday, they announced to the ward that this was going to be my last area......... thanks..........haha I am still loving the mission, it is great being out here!

Edmond, Oklahoma- Week 92

Hey!
Yep, so I am in Edmond 2nd now! It is a lot different then Del City. It's still a little weird being in the more city like areas, but I do like it - and that we have a car! :) I am so glad for that. The work is going pretty well in this area. This week we were able to set two baptismal dates, so that was great. We do some service here every week, and it all sounds like so much fun! The weather has been nice, so storms yet, but we heard that we might be getting some this week. We were able to go with Jimmy to get his Patriarchal Blessing this week, it was sooo cool to be able to be there! The spirit was so strong there, it was amazing. Like I said last week- my companion is Elder Ricks and he's cool- we get along great!  Hes been out 9 months. And it's cool, one of the places we do service here is called the hope center. It's sort of like GoodWill. People donate stuff to it, and then they sell it for a few dollars. You can buy a new GPS for $3, so can't wait to go there! Have a great week!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 91

Hey!
So im getting transferred :( I'm going to Edmond 2nd Ward, the address is 3621 Wynn Dr. Apt 55. Edmond, 73013. We had a really good week here in Del City though! So we ended on a good note, there has been so many miracles this week. We found so many new people to teach, it was a week to remember. We had a lot of members come out with us, and we got in to our appointments with those members as well :) We met Rodney- he talked with missionaries here in the past, a long time ago, and it was really cool how they found him! Long story short, they literally saved his life, he loves meeting with us, sadly he has cancer and doesn't have that long left, but he is the most humble guy I have ever met, it was awesome that we found him. We had exchanges with the zone leaders this week, and that went well. We went to their area for the day. And the next day, their was a Book of Mormon play that the Spanish branch did in the city and so we got to go to that. It was sooo good, they put so much effort into that. I'm going to miss this place, I really liked it here!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 90

Hey!
So this week has been pretty good, Zone P-day was really fun, we had a relay race, and some other activities, one of them was a egg toss, and there was some people that got really far, they were probably throwing this egg from 70+ feet away, and they didn't break it! There was one that bounced on the ground and didn't break.......... at one point we thought they cheated and hard-boiled it or something! Finally it broke so it wasn't hard boiled, the one that they had was one tough egg! We had lots of fun, and we had a meeting after that. We learned a lot about different teaching situations; they had some members that were in different room, and so we had to practice teaching them. It was good practice. Service at the food pantry was fun as always. And then on Friday, :) I had a great birthday! :) And the sisters threw a little party as well, it was great, best birthday on a misson ever! We went on exchanges with the Choctaw Elders, that went well. We were helping someone build a playground set for his daughters birthday, it was fun to help out, it took forever though. My knees are doing ok, I have been doing the exercises like I have been told, so hopefully that will help. The storm we got on Friday-Sunday wasn't the best. We are still really busy, and the work is starting to pick back up again. And we don't know about transfers yet, it is a 7 week transfer so we will know next week.

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 88

Hey!
It's been a good week, we have seen a lot of people. The ward had a talent show on Saturday so that was really fun to go to. It was a pretty normal week this week, so not that much happened, we did get a lot more members to come out with us so that was nice to have, didn't have to bike as much. We had a zone meeting on Thursday, there was some good training there, and I am so excited for general conference!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 87

Hey!
It's been a good week, the weather has been nice, and we heard that it is going to be warming up part of the week, then a cold front might roll through, so I guess we will see how it is going to go. We have been continuing to share the new Easter video with everyone, and we have been able to see many miracles from it. One miracle is with a less active member and his wife who is not a member. So we have been going over there for a while, but not much has happened, and his wife didn't talk to us that much, so we went over there and shared the video with them, they all loved it and we started talking. We were talking about family history, and that's when his wife got excited and showed us this really old Styrofoam cup with  a lot of faded writing on it. She told us that her mother one day wrote down all the family history that she knew on the cup with names and dates before she pasted away many years ago, and she has kept it ever since. So we called one of the people in the ward who is good with family history and asked if she could come with us to see them later in the week. She did and helped them with a few things, we came back the next day after that, and his wife was totally different, she was excited to see us and let us inside, and they told us that it was great that that member was able to come over! They weren't able to set up a account that day, so I played around with it for a while, and finally I was able to make everything work, and showed them a little how to do it, and find people on the church's family history website. So I connected a few people together on the members side, he already had some family lines that went back to 1300. Someone else in his family has been doing it as well, but it was really cool to be able to show them that! He then said its probably time he gets back into church. Got a miracle all because of family history!!! On Thursday, we went on exchanges with the zone leaders, it was fun, I went to their area. It was nice to be able to be in a car all day! :) We had some miracles with that as well. The last appointment of the night we tried a former investigator again, and we taught him the restoration, and set a baptismal date with him, it was soo cool! So our investigators are doing good! :) We have a baptismal date set with one of them, that we are really excited about!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 86

Hey!
This week went well! We worked pretty hard this week, the weather has been nice, and every morning it has been foggy so that is cool to see. It has also rained a few days this week, luckily we were never caught out in the rain. We had some good lessons with our investigators and also some of the less actives that we are working with. Service at the food pantry was fun, they just got some more storage space, so we spent the time there helping them move stuff in the storage. We had dinner with the McCunes, they are still doing great, I am so glad we were able to meet them, and help them come back to church. We have been starting to work on the names that the bishop told us to go see, and it is getting done, and we were already meeting with most of the people that he told us to see, so we just have a few more, and we were also able to meet more of the members as well, so good things are happening in Del City. On Friday, we had more of a zone meeting than a district meeting, so I didn't have to plan a training, I only have to do one for this week, but the zone leaders talked about the new Easter Initiative, I really like that video, I does remind me a lot of the Christmas one. On Saturday, we helped one of the sisters investigators move from their apartment to the next building over, there was some really funny parts of that move-so they have a huge and heavy mattress, so we are barely able to carry it out to their van. We then stuff that into the van, and put the box spring on the top of the car BUT the car won't start, so we put the car in neutral and we ride as far as we can with that, and then all we have to do is get it out of the car and push it the rest of the way. It was pretty funny, anyway, we got it all done and moved, so that is good, and it felt really nice outside that day too.

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 85

Hey!!
This has been a good week, so on Monday we went over to the McCunes, to have a final lesson with Kylie before she was baptized, that went well, she was so excited about everything! On Tuesday it was Elder Barton saying goodbye to everyone, he was in this area for a while, it was sad to see him go, so Wednesday was transfers, so my new companion is Elder Smith, he seems like a pretty cool guy, he hasn't been out that long, only finished his training, so once again, I'm still the oldest person in the district, and I think the zone as well..... We weren't able to see a lot of people this week, but we went to a lot of places. We had the baptism for Kylie on Saturday!!!!! it was great!! There was a lot of people there, and Elder Barton came back for the Baptism and confirmation! it was great being able to work with this family, it truly was a miracle from the Lord :) We should be getting some storms this week, starting today, so I guess we will see what happens.

I don't think that this is the largest...

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 84

Hey!!
So Elder Barton is getting transferred to Blanchard, so I'm jealous of that, Blanchard was a fun place! My new companion is Elder Smith, I don't know that much about him, besides that he is still pretty new. I'm doing good, it was a strange week, I don't really know why, but it just felt weird, and it went by way too fast. But we worked really hard this week, so I'm happy about that. Kylie's baptism is still on the 5th, so we are very excited about that, The McCune family is the best! The people that we are teaching are doing good, and hopefully we will be able to find and teach more, the work  is going great here, and what I have liked here is that we really have not done any tracting, it has been referals or part member families. I like this way a lot better! :) So far I haven't heard anything about the car, president said he would see what he could do last week, so I guess we will see what happens. The weather has been nice here, it really has been a mild winter, I heard that we might get some storms in the coming days, but this is Oklahoma so you can't really trust the weather. :) It has been great out here, although I could do without the allergies, hahaha but I have stuff for it, and time is going by fast!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 83

Hey!
This was a very tiring, but great week! On Tuesday we had a STM(specialized training meeting) so that took up that morning, we saw some of the less actives that we are working with, they are doing great, they love coming to church and now trying to share the gospel with the rest of their family. I finally got my suits dry cleaned! We found a place close to us that does a pretty good job for cheap too! And we got them back the next day, so I'm glad I finally got that done. On Wednesday, we did service at the food pantry, it's really fun helping out there. On Thursday, the zone leaders came over and did weekly planning with us, and then after we went on exchanges, I went with Elder Moe to his area, and Elder Barton stayed with Elder Thomas. Exchanges went well, we were able to see some miracles, so that was awesome! Exchanges are the best times to have miracles in the area :) On Friday, there was a lot of people at district meeting, because we had us, the sisters, and Chocktaw elders there as usual, but because of exchanges, the zone leaders were there, and also the STL's were there as well, so lots of people, but district meeting went well, it always goes better when you have more people participating. Then on Friday night, we went to the OKC 3rd elder's house so we would be closer to the buses that were picking us up on Saturday, so I'm glad that we were able to stay there with them, it saved us 45 min of travel and that they buses were leaving at 5:30, so we got up early that morning and off to the buses, it was about a 2 hour drive to Tulsa, we slept most of the way there. The Mission Conference was awesome, and there was our mission there, and also the Bentenvill, Arkansas mission there as well. So there was a lot of people! When Elder Christofferson and President Robbins walked in to the room, you could feel the spirit in that room so much more, they gave great talks! I made sure to take lots of notes, and what was really cool, is that before the conference started, Elder Christofferson asked all of us to come up to the front so that he could shake our hands:) and he was really funny as well! At one point we all stood up to stretch a little, and he started doing head, shoulders, knees, and toes, we were all laughing at that! That night we had a lesson with the McCunes, they are doing great! And Kiley is still Excited about getting baptized on March 5!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 82

Hey!!!
This week was pretty good! we had zone p-day last week, we played volleyball and flicker ball, it was really fun! Then that night we had a lesson with the McCunes, they are doing awesome! and Kiley is still excited to be baptized! On Tuesday we helped out at the group home, then we went to one of the members house to give a blessing, then after that, we had interviews with president. Tuesday was a lot of running around, and President seemed taller, hahaha he had to watch that he didn't hit his head on the lights on the ceiling. So that was funny! Working with a lot of less actives, and that is going great, there are a lot more people that are starting to come back to church now! Lots of bike riding this week, am glad that the weather has been a little warmer, so far it really hasn't been that bad of a winter. District meeting went well, and had exchanges on Friday with Elder Martinez, they went well, and that was also a busy day, so lots of running around all over the place, but I guess that is a good thing that we are staying busy. We are excited with the mission tour coming up on the 20th! We have a few meetings this week before that, I have to go to a leadership training meeting, on Wednesday, and on Tuesday we are all going to a zone meeting, so lots of travel this week, should be fun. I'm doing good. Hope that you all are having a great week!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 81

Hey!
This week was a good week, it's getting pretty windy out side right now, but that is the weather is Oklahoma. Monday was good, on Tuesday and Wednesday we didn't do anything, I got sick Tuesday morning and so for those two days I was in bed, I don't know that I had, but no energy and lots of sinus pressure. So not much happened then, I'm getting better now, on Thursday I felt a little better, so we went out for a little bit and saw some people, Friday we had district meeting, and we had a lesson with the McCunes, it went great, we set a baptismal date with her daughter for March 5, and she is really excited for it!! I don't know, sorry not a lot for this week because of sickness, but I'm loving it out here, everything is doing great. For P-day today we are having a Zone P-day so all of us are going to do sports! Love you!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 80

Hey!
I'm doing good, we have had a great week! On Tuesday, we helped out at a group home for people with special needs who are able to work, I love all those people there! :) One of them, Tracy is awesome, he loves coming to church with us on Sundays! :) Well, Sister Ballentyne was wearing some rain boots there, so as I'm talking to Tracy, he sees her and asks me why she is wearing rubber boots? Aren't her feet hot in them? He thought it was the funniest thing in the world, and from that point on, he calls Sister Ballentyne hot black rubber boots, it was funny. We had a temple trip on Wednsday, I love the temple, its is so special, I wish we were able to go more often then we do. Then on Thursday we have started a Book of Mormon class, not that many people there, but hopefully we can get more there! Then on Friday, our ward had a temple trip, so we got to go again!!! I learned so much that time, it was really cool! Going back to last Monday, at Walmart, while we were shopping there was this lady that kept looking at us and we could tell that she wanted to say something to us but seemed a little scared to, so we talked with her, and she told us that she was a member of the church but hasn't gone in a long time, and her life went downhill after that, and she has been praying that she would find some missionaries again, so that we could help her and her family, and so on Saturday we went to her house and had a great lesson with them, and on Sunday, they came to church!!!! and I saw some other people at church too! Hope that you are having a great week!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 79

Hey!
The weather is starting to warm up again this week, but it has been really windy. We have continued our efforts of trying to see all the people on the ward list, it's going slowly, but we are doing it, and we are teaching a few of them again, so hopefully we can bring them back to church. So our week has been pretty good, lots of bike riding, and Sister Ballantyne's new companion is Sister Long, she just came out, so Sister Ballantyne is training. The sisters had a baptism on Saturday for Serenity, and I got to baptize her, so that is pretty cool! :) This week we get to have a zone temple trip on Wednesday, so I'm excited for that! And then on Friday, our ward is having a temple trip, so we get to go to that too!! So this week is going to be great! We also found out that sometime in February, one of the Apostles is coming to speak to the mission!! Another thing I have been working on this week in my free time is making bone pens, Elder Barton and I had ribs for dinner last week, and I thought hey, maybe I can make something out of the bones, so we cleaned them up and whitened them, and now turning them into pens, they look pretty cool :)

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 78

Hey!
So the library was closed yesterday, but I'm on now :) This was a pretty good week, first, Elder Barton and I are staying together so that is good, Sister Slack is leaving, and Sister Ballantyne is training. We have had a good week this week! So on Monday, that was really fun! We went to the bone museum here, it was really cool! They had some videos of how that did all that stuff, the largest thing they have there was a whale. We got a few new investigators this week! :) We are helping one of them stop smoking and so far it is going well, she told us that that ever since we gave her a Book of Mormon, every time she smokes, she feels sick so she has to put it out! We were able to set some baptismal dates with a few of our investigators, and 3 of them are siblings, so we had a lesson with to of them, then at the end of the lesson, their brother came in and joined them, and Elder Barton asked him how old he was, and he was above 8, so his brother looked at him and asked him if he wanted to be baptized, and he said yes! Then the brother picked a date to be baptized on too! It was really cool, easiest baptism invitation I have ever seen, wish they would happen like that more often! :) We had district meeting, that went well, next week there is going to be a broadcast, so I don't have to plan for next week, I get a break! Sunday was ward conference, and 3rd hour, Elder Barton and I got to teach the young men, we taught about the God Head, it turned out pretty well. At the beginning of the week it was cold, but is starting to warm up a little bit more, the weather is interesting. My knee hasn't been causing me too much trouble lately, I have also been taking it a little easier on it, so I bet that helps.

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 77

Hey!!
It snowed this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It wasn't that much, but in the morning when it did, it looked pretty cool, it wasn't ice this time! :) This was a pretty good week. It has been pretty cold all week, so always wearing a suit and jacket now, good news with my knee, I told Sister Perry, the mission nurse about it, and apparently she is creating a list of missionaries who have those kinds of problems that would make biking harder for them, and so when president is doing transfers, he can look at that list to put those people in consideration, so I have a better chance to be in a car area now.  We have been continuing to find people on the ward lists that we don't know, and so far it is working out great! :) We have been able to find a few more people, and we are meeting them again next week! We had a cool lesson with a less active, we brought a member with us, and in the past we could never get her to church but in that lesson, the member we had out with us was awesome, he was very bold but she needed it, and while we were talking to her, even her mom- who is not a member- was trying to get her to go to church as well!! And then this Sunday, she came!!!!! We also had service at the food bank, fun as always. Been pretty busy this week running around to see different people. Had a good district meeting, and after I went to Choctaw for the day for exchanges, they went well, and then the next morning Elder Hatch and I went to the guys house who had the pig and we helped him turn it into sausage, that was fun, so after that then we exchanged back. This Sunday I gave my talk, and it went well, I needed to look up more, oh well, next time. But church was good.

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 76

Hey!
We had a good New Years, for most of the day we were busy trying to see people, then in the evening, we went to a members house for the rest of the night. We had fun, and played games, and watched Meet The Mormons. This week went by fast, on Tuesday we and a STM, a meeting with the whole zone there, it was at the building in Midwest City, so we didn't have to drive forever to get there like we normally do! So that was good. We haven't had anymore rain or snow, but it has still been cold outside. Service at the food bank is fun, we were pretty busy last time, people donated a lot of stuff, so we were trying to go through it all. One of our Zone Leaders, Elder Curay dislocated his knee a few days ago playing basketball, so he has a splint on his leg, we are wondering what is going on with our zone, first Sister Slack's elbow, and now a knee, he is doing better now though, so that is good. One thing that we have been trying to do is organize the ward lists that we have, so that it will be easier to see people, so we started seeing some of the people of the lists that we didn't know- so far it is turning out fairly well. For the most part, everyone was very nice, and said we could come back. I think I am speaking next week, so I get a little more time to practice now, so that is good.
You know the storm is bad when no one is at Walmart!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 75

hey!
Sorry I wasn't on yesterday, there was snow and ice, and the cars were grounded, and the library was closed, so It has been pretty cold outside, but I have been staying warm! since I got to talk to you on Skype on Christmas, that was most of the week. Since then, after Christmas is when the winter storm started, so it was snowing and raining and everything in between, I guess that is Oklahoma, combine everything in one. So we saw everyone we could that was in walking distance, then after that, it was a lot of staying inside the apartment, it is really boring staying inside all day, luckily today everything is unthawing... sort of, but good enough to be on a bike. Things are sort of warming up. Instead of 29-32, its 32-34, but that's the high, so stuff melts a little and then freezes again at night, but the roads and walkways aren't icy anymore, so that's good! Love you all!

Del City, Oklahoma- Week 74

Hey! Merry Christmas!
This was a really fun week, so on Monday we went to the zoo! We got to see a lot of animals there, it was really cool and of course I had to take a lot of pictures of everything, we got to see most of the animals there, so we had a good time with that. I still knew a lot about most of the animals there, so I could name most of the animals. We were able to see a few people this week and have some good lessons with them. On Wednesday, we get to help out at the food bank, that is always fun to do. We were able to get a lot done there. On Thursday, we had our Christmas conference in the city, that was good as always, so that took up the whole day.  On Saturday, it was really fun!! Our district went up to Choctaw to help one of their investigators with one of his pigs that he was going to kill that morning, so we all went up there and helped him skin it and butcher it, I thought it was something different, so I know know how to butcher a pig, I was thinking, this could be like the following, hahaha ;) Sunday was good too, they had a little Christmas program, sang a lot of songs, it was nice, we have been pretty busy this week, and then it is going to be Christmas!!!!!!

Chickasha, Oklahoma- Week 73

Hey!
This week was a little crazy, the first half of the week was mostly packing, and saying goodbye to people. I am a little sad to leave, but the Lord needs me in Del City now, Del City is a interesting place. It's pretty small, but we also cover parts of Midwest city and Oklahoma City, I really wished that they gave us a car, we bike everywhere. I'm still the district leader, so it is us, sisters in Midwest city, and elders in Choctaw. My companion is Elder Barton, he is a cool guy, I think we are going to get along great. Everyone is asking me now how long I have been out, I tell them a year and a half, and they all say so your going home soon! I still have a while!!! But we did figure out that I have been out longer then every person in the district combined...... so this week, I have been trying to get used to this area, it seems a lot bigger, and we are near Tinker, so we get to go on base sometimes :) and it's cool to see the different planes getting ready to land, so they are closer to the ground. I got to see Elder Hoffman! He stopped by at the church on Sunday night, so it was cool to see him again. He came back to Oklahoma for a little, because Janie sadly passed away on Saturday :(. And to answer your questions, Elder Pearson is still in Chickasha, and I was able to say good bye to most people, which I am happy about, very glad I was able to say good bye to Janie:) and Elder Barton has been out for 6 months, and it is a ward here, so lots of people, they even have YSA (young single adults ward) here.

Chickasha, Oklahoma- Week 72

Hey!
So I'm getting transfered to Dell City, I'm sad about leaving Chickasha, I liked staying in a place for a while, so besides that, we had a really good week! We got a lot of work done, and we got a baptismal date with one of our investigators! So hopefully he gets baptized so I can come back for that. It was a warmer week so that was nice. Elder Pearson and I are feeling a lot better, now I'm just trying to get rid of a cough. On Saturday I got to go to a baptism in Blanchard for someone I taught there a year ago! I was glad they remembered me, it was Elder Mulitalo and I who first started teaching her. So that was a awesome part of the week, and the Christmas devotional was good too, I really enjoyed it. I don't think this will be a very long email, but if it make up for that, I have lots of pictures :)

Chickasha, Oklahoma- Week 71

Hey!
So the weather this week was the same all week! The high was in the 30`s! And it rained all week! So it has been pretty cold. On Tuesday, we went to the museum, and we got to set up a model train and all the tracks, that was really cool. Elder Pearson has been sick this week, so we stayed in most of Wednesday, that day seemed to go on forever! What I did for most of the day is work on the branch roster that we have, we have been trying to find all those people that we don't know and find out if they still live there or not, so what I did is find all our telephone directories and yellow pages that we had and tried to find people that way, it took a long time, but I actually found more people than I thought I would, so I was happy about that. And Thanksgiving!!!! So we had Thanksgiving with the Shaw's, it was really fun, the food was great, and then after we played lots of games. :) We had a great time there. Also, that was the day when the cold front came through, so earlier that day, it is raining, by the time that we left their house, it was still raining, but it was freezing outside! I think the temperature was 37. Only in Oklahoma would it be in the 30's and pouring rain. Well, this continued for the rest of the time and still happening now! So Friday was a cold day, on Friday though, we all went to Pauls Valley for a zone meeting, they talked about the new video that came out, A Savior Is Born. and I love it! Friday night is when everything started freezing, so all the plants and trees were covered in thick ice, it looked cool, but by Saturday morning, lots of trees were falling because of the weight, and we saw a few tractors going down streets to clear the roads, and lots of power and cable company cars fixing all the power lines as well. luckily we didn't lose power, but some of the members did for the day. So the work this week was slower, because of sickness, and with the weather outside, and of course, the Bedlam game, but we did the best we could with it, so that's good! On Sunday there wasn't a lot of people at church but it was still good, we got to show everyone the new video that came out and tell them about it.
Thanksgiving!

IT'S COLD!
